After a long gap I went to the local theatre to see the latest Will Smith starrer ‘Hancock’ a very different movie from other superheroes films like Superman, Spiderman and the Batman. The similarity between these two categories is only in the super power of the heroes. While the other three are not pathos based this movie of Will Smith is completely sober and the hero for a change is not initially liked by the people for the damages he causes to property while going his vigilante routines. A superman always smiles at least Mr. Christopher Reeves did. Spiderman is almost like Hancock but the hero exudes smile here and there. Batman always lives in darkness and especially Val Kilmer gave a very serious stature to the character. But all of these took care of property and people while doing the rescuing acts. Not our Hancock. That is why the other hero wants to make something out of him and turns him into a somewhat grotesquely smiling man. But his wife reveals that she also has super power similar to the hero and they turn out to be husband and wife with a life span of 3000 years. Some story! And all these are told in a dialogue mode – unless you go to a very good theatre with dts you can miss each and every sentence. Will Smith usually talks loud in his pictures and here he is very quite almost like in I am Legend. The real charming treatment is given to the movie by the lovely Charliz Theron. The scene she reveals the truth to the hero are quite eye capturing. As is usual with these kinds of movies the movie ends with a warning tone of at least two more sequels and if I am not mistaken it may go a prequel also because the past is not visually narrated. 20 years from now I am expecting those prequels just like the Star Wars

Even though I am not much of an investor I have put some money in the stock market and here in India like other global markets our stocks are mostly dependent upon the Dow and the NASDAQ. Today the 25^th July 08 after almost a week a pullback bullish rally I am expecting India to open with a gap down because of Dow which last more than 200 points.
